Vimmerbys environmental award

At the end of November 2005, joy and surprise showed through the winter darkness. A delegation from Vimmerby Municipality knocked on the door. With pomp and splendour, we were honoured with flowers and a fine speech – Mercatus had been declared the winner of the environmental award for the year.

At the final council meeting of the year, a diploma was awarded along with a SEK 10,000 cash award. The money is being put to great use in our sponsorship activities. Since autumn 2005, we have been active in the development of an SOS children's village in Tianjing, China. The entire award has been donated to this charity.
